【Beijing, May 18, 2026】China Guardian's 2026 Spring Auction concluded successfully yesterday, with the highly anticipated 'Magnificent Jewels and Jadeite' special session performing exceptionally well. The total transaction value reached RMB 185 million, with a remarkable sell-through rate of 88.5%, significantly exceeding market expectations. This auction result not only reflects the steady recovery of the high-end jadeite jewelry market but also indicates collectors' continued pursuit of rare and high-quality lots.
A total of 125 lots were offered in this session, with 88 successfully sold. Notably, several top-tier jadeite pieces performed outstandingly. The leading lot, an 'Imperial Green Jadeite Bead Necklace,' composed of 28 imperial green jadeite beads, each approximately 12.5 mm in diameter, boasting rich color, fine texture, and exceptional translucency, was hammered at RMB 68 million, a 15% premium over its upper estimate, becoming the highest-priced lot of this spring auction. Another 'Icy Green Jadeite Bangle,' featuring excellent clarity and vibrant green color, sold for RMB 22 million, exceeding its estimate by 20%. Additionally, a uniquely designed 'Full Green Jadeite and Diamond Brooch' fetched RMB 8.5 million, reflecting the market's preference for jadeite jewelry that combines both artistic and collectible value.
From the data, the total transaction value of this jadeite jewelry special session increased by 15% compared to the same period last year, and the sell-through rate also improved by 5 percentage points. Among them, lots estimated at over RMB 5 million achieved a sell-through rate as high as 95%, demonstrating the strong purchasing power of the high-end market. Lots estimated between RMB 1 million and RMB 5 million also maintained a high sell-through rate of 85%, indicating robust demand in the mid-to-high-end market.
Mr. Li Ming, a senior auction industry analyst, pointed out: "The success of this China Guardian Spring Auction's jadeite jewelry session is the result of multiple converging factors. Firstly, the gradual stabilization of the global economy has boosted the confidence of high-net-worth individuals. Secondly, as a non-renewable resource, jadeite's scarcity and value-preserving properties make it an important component in asset allocation. Especially top-grade jadeite like imperial green and glass jadeite, their prices have remained strong, even rising against the trend. The premium sales of high-quality jadeite in this auction once again confirm the market principle of 'rarity commands value.'"
Ms. Wang Li, Head of China Guardian's Jewelry and Watches Department, stated: "We are very pleased with the results of this spring auction. During the consignment phase, we strictly controlled the selection process to ensure the quality and rarity of the lots. From the transaction results, collectors have shown great enthusiasm for jadeite jewelry with clear provenance, perfect condition, and exquisite craftsmanship. Especially those exquisite pieces that combine both investment value and aesthetic appeal are highly sought after by collectors. In the future, we will continue to deepen our presence in the high-end jadeite market, bringing more anticipated treasures to collectors."
Looking ahead, the jadeite jewelry market will show a trend of polarization. On one hand, the prices of top-tier, rare jadeite will continue to rise, becoming an important choice for hedging and asset allocation. On the other hand, uniquely designed and exquisitely crafted mid-to-high-end jadeite jewelry will also be favored by younger generations of collectors. However, for ordinary quality jadeite, market competition will be more intense, with limited room for price increases. Experts advise that when investing in jadeite, collectors should focus on a comprehensive consideration of its clarity, color, and craftsmanship, and choose reputable auction houses and dealers to ensure investment value and collecting pleasure.
