【Beijing, November 15, 2026】China Guardian's 2026 Autumn Auction concluded successfully yesterday, with the 'Magnificent Jewels and Jadeite' specialist sale particularly shining. The total transaction value exceeded RMB 320 million, with a remarkable sell-through rate of 88.5%, significantly surpassing market expectations and injecting a strong boost into the currently somewhat subdued art market. This auction result not only highlights the robust value of top-tier jadeite jewelry but also signals a gradual recovery in the high-end collectibles market.
The specialist sale featured a total of 268 lots. Among them, the highly anticipated highlight – a natural Burmese old pit imperial green glass-type jadeite bead necklace weighing 38.5 carats – was finally hammered at an astonishing price of RMB 88 million, far exceeding its estimated price of RMB 60 million, with a premium rate of 46.7%. According to China Guardian, after multiple rounds of intense bidding, the necklace was acquired by an anonymous Asian collector. Another highly watched lot, a set of 18K white gold inlaid cabochon jadeite earrings and ring, featuring rich color and fine texture, sold for RMB 35 million, a 25% increase from its estimated price of RMB 28 million. Additionally, several high-quality ice-type and glutinous-type jadeite bangles and pendants also sold above their estimates, with an average premium rate of around 15%.
From the data, the total transaction value of this jadeite jewelry specialist sale increased by approximately 25% compared to the same sale in the 2025 autumn auction, and the sell-through rate also improved by nearly 10 percentage points. This significant growth is primarily attributed to the outstanding performance of several top-tier lots and the continuous strong demand for rare, high-quality jadeite in the market.
Mr. Li Ming, a senior jewelry market analyst, commented: "The performance of jadeite jewelry at this China Guardian autumn auction is exhilarating. Against the backdrop of increasing global economic uncertainty, top-tier jadeite, as a hard currency and scarce resource, has once again proven its value preservation and appreciation attributes. Particularly, jadeite with historical provenance, exquisite craftsmanship, and excellent clarity, color, and texture, has shown a trend of bucking market fluctuations and even rising. This indicates that high-end collectors' demand for core asset allocation remains strong."
Ms. Wang, Head of China Guardian's Jewelry and Watches Department, also pointed out: "We have observed a shift in the buyer structure. In addition to traditional seasoned collectors, an increasing number of young entrepreneurs and newly wealthy individuals are starting to pay attention to and invest in high-end jadeite. They place more emphasis on the cultural connotations, design aesthetics, and uniqueness of the lots. The success of this auction is also inseparable from our strict control over lot quality and accurate judgment of market trends."
Looking ahead, the market generally believes that with the gradual recovery of the global economy and the continuous accumulation of wealth in the Asian region, the market demand for high-end jadeite jewelry will maintain steady growth. Particularly, natural A-grade jadeite with high collection value and strong rarity still has room for further price appreciation. However, for ordinary quality jadeite, market competition will be more intense, and prices may face some pressure. Therefore, collectors, when choosing jadeite, still need to focus on the comprehensive quality of its clarity, color, and craftsmanship, and pay attention to market hotspots and trends to achieve asset preservation and appreciation.
