Hangzhou, November 28, 2026 – The highly anticipated Xiling Yinshe 2026 Autumn Auction concluded successfully today. As the highlight of this autumn sale, the jadeite special session performed exceptionally well, particularly the Hetian jade masterpieces, which once again affirmed their firm position in the art market with their outstanding quality and rarity. The total transaction value of this auction reached RMB 285 million, with an overall transaction rate of 82.5%. The jadeite special session's transaction rate even exceeded 90%, demonstrating strong market demand for high-quality artworks.
This autumn auction presented over 1,200 lots, covering various categories such as Chinese painting and calligraphy, ancient books and rubbings, scholar's objects, oil paintings, and sculptures. The jadeite special session, especially the Hetian jade section, was undoubtedly the biggest highlight. A particularly noteworthy Qing Dynasty Qianlong period 'White Jade Carving of Immortals Celebrating Longevity' was highly sought after. With its delicate and warm jade quality, exquisite craftsmanship, and auspicious symbolism, after multiple rounds of fierce bidding, it finally hammered for a high price of RMB 36.8 million, significantly exceeding its pre-auction estimate (RMB 25 million-30 million), with a premium rate of 22.6%. Another 'Hetian Seed Jade Beast Handle Piece', weighing approximately 230 grams, with lustrous jade quality and beautiful skin color, sold for RMB 12.8 million. Compared to a similar lot sold in the 2023 spring auction (approximately RMB 9.5 million), this represents an increase of 34.7%, fully demonstrating the value preservation and appreciation attributes of Hetian seed jade.
Mr. Wang, General Manager of Xiling Yinshe Auction Co., Ltd., stated in an interview: “The success of this autumn auction, especially the excellent performance of the Hetian jade special session, reflects the market's continuous pursuit of scarce resources and exquisite craftsmanship. Although the market has experienced some adjustments in the past few years, high-quality Hetian jade masterpieces have always been the focus of collectors. These transaction data indicate that the art market is gradually recovering, and collector confidence has been boosted.”
Professor Li, a senior jade market analyst, pointed out: “Judging from the transaction situation of this Xiling Yinshe autumn auction, the Hetian jade market shows several significant trends. Firstly, refinement and rarity are the core driving forces; lots with warm jade quality, exquisite craftsmanship, and clear provenance are more likely to achieve high premiums. Secondly, the value of seed jade remains strong, especially seed jade with skin, whose natural charm and non-renewable nature make it a hard currency. Thirdly, the market's recognition of cultural connotations and historical value is increasing, and lots with storytelling or historical backgrounds are more favored. It is expected that the Hetian jade market will continue to maintain steady growth in the next few years, but collectors need to pay more attention to quality and origin when investing.”
The success of this auction not only brought a successful conclusion to Xiling Yinshe's annual performance but also injected new vitality into the entire art market. Industry insiders generally believe that with the gradual improvement of the economic situation and the increasing maturity of collecting concepts, the market value of high-quality artworks, especially Hetian jade with profound cultural heritage, will continue to be explored and enhanced.
