Beijing, May 20, 2026 – The highly anticipated Poly Auction 2026 Spring Sale concluded successfully yesterday. The total transaction value of this auction reached an impressive RMB 4.58 billion, with a sell-through rate of 87.5%, setting a new high for spring sales in recent years. Among them, the jewelry and jadeite section performed particularly well, with a total transaction value exceeding RMB 820 million, a 15% increase compared to the same period last year, demonstrating the continued strong purchasing power in the high-end jadeite market.
The highlight of this auction was undoubtedly several top-tier jadeite bangles. One such piece, named “Condensing Green Radiance,” a glass-type Imperial Green jadeite bangle, fetched an astonishing RMB 185 million, far exceeding its pre-sale estimate of RMB 120 million, with a premium rate of 54.17%. This bangle boasts exceptional clarity, intense and even color, and delicate texture, hailed by many experts as one of the best jadeite bangles to appear on the auction market in the past decade. Another ice-type vibrant green jadeite bangle was finally sold for RMB 68 million, also well above its estimate of RMB 45 million, representing a 51.1% increase. In addition, several high-quality lavender, Fulu Shou jadeite bangles also sold for high prices, with a sell-through rate of over 95%.
Mr. Li Ming, Head of the Jewelry and Watches Department at Poly Auction, stated in an interview: “The outstanding performance of jadeite bangles in this spring sale once again confirms the market's pursuit of rare, high-quality jadeite. Especially in the context of increasing global economic uncertainty, top-tier jadeite, as a hard currency and an art piece, its value preservation and appreciation characteristics are even more prominent, attracting the attention of numerous collectors both domestically and internationally.”
From a market analysis perspective, the current jadeite market shows a trend of polarization. On one hand, mid-to-low-end jadeite products have a wide audience but experience greater price fluctuations and intense competition. On the other hand, high-end to collectible-grade jadeite, especially jadeite bangles with excellent clarity, color, and texture, continue to rise in price due to their rarity and non-renewable nature, becoming highly sought after by collectors and investors. The auction data also confirms this trend: among the top ten highest-selling lots, six were top-tier jadeite, with four of them being jadeite bangles. This indicates that the market's pursuit of “exquisite, rare, and beautiful” has become the mainstream.
Professor Wang, a senior jadeite market analyst, pointed out: “In the coming years, the market demand for high-end jadeite will continue to remain strong. As Myanmar's jadeite rough resources become increasingly depleted, the value of top-tier jadeite will be further highlighted. When selecting, collectors should focus on the jadeite's clarity, color, craftsmanship, and the presence of authoritative certificates. At the same time, investing in jadeite also requires professional appraisal knowledge and a long-term perspective to avoid blind following.”
The success of this Poly Spring Sale not only injected a strong boost into the market but also set a positive tone for the art market in the second half of 2026. The investment value and collection charm of high-end jadeite will continue to lead the development direction of the jewelry auction market.
