【Beijing, November 20, 2026】Poly Auction's 2026 Autumn Art Auction concluded successfully today. As the highlight of this autumn sale, the Master Jade Carvings special session performed exceptionally well, with multiple lots selling for prices far exceeding their estimates, once again confirming the strong vitality of the high-end jade carving art market and the growing enthusiasm of collectors.

This special session for master jade carvings featured 85 carefully selected lots, showcasing representative works by many contemporary renowned jade carving artists. The materials included Hetian jade, jadeite, and Nanhong agate. Ultimately, the session achieved a total turnover of RMB 185 million, with an impressive sell-through rate of 92.9%, significantly surpassing the previously expected RMB 150 million. Among them, 25 lots sold for over RMB 1 million, and 5 lots exceeded RMB 10 million, demonstrating the market's strong pursuit of exquisite jade carvings.

The highly anticipated focal lot, the 'Prosperous Lotus Pond' white jade ornament created by national-level jade carving master Zhang Dexiang, started at an estimated price of RMB 12 million. After multiple rounds of fierce bidding, it finally hammered at RMB 28.5 million, with a premium rate of 137.5%, setting a new auction record for Master Zhang Dexiang's personal works. Another piece, the 'Mountain and Water Serenity' jasper mountain carving by emerging jade carving artist Li Mingxuan, sold for RMB 8.2 million, a remarkable increase of 134.3% compared to its estimate of RMB 3.5 million, fully demonstrating the market's recognition of new talent.

Ms. Wang Li, Head of Chinese Works of Art Department at Poly Auction, stated in an interview: "The success of this Master Jade Carvings special session once again proves the unique charm of jade carving art and its investment value as a hard currency. We have observed that collectors are increasingly demanding in terms of the artistry, craftsmanship, and the artist's reputation and market influence. Especially innovative works that integrate the essence of traditional culture with modern aesthetics are more favored by the market."

From a market trend perspective, the high-end jade carving art market is showing several significant characteristics:

  • Clear trend towards high-quality pieces: Collectors are increasingly stringent about the quality of works. Only pieces with superior materials, exquisite craftsmanship, and unique themes can achieve high premiums.

  • Prominent master effect: Works by national-level, provincial-level, and market-influential jade carving masters continue to see their brand premium capabilities strengthen, becoming the focus of market pursuit.

  • Emphasis on both theme and cultural connotation: Works with auspicious meanings, traditional cultural elements, or innovative artistic expressions are more popular.

  • Dual attributes of investment and collection: As global economic uncertainty increases, jade carving art, as an asset with both cultural value and potential for preservation and appreciation, its investment attribute is becoming increasingly prominent.

Mr. Chen Yu, a senior jade market analyst, pointed out: "The data from this Poly Autumn Auction is very representative. In the current market environment, the counter-trend rise of master jade carvings reflects the high-end collection market's pursuit of scarce resources. Especially works with clear provenance and widely recognized artistic value have very strong price support. It is expected that in the next few years, the market value of master jade carvings will continue to grow steadily, but the market will pay more attention to the artistic height and cultural depth of the works, and speculative collecting will gradually be replaced by rational collecting."

The success of this Poly Autumn Auction has undoubtedly injected a strong shot in the arm for the entire jade carving art market, signaling the arrival of a more mature and vibrant collecting era.
