【Hangzhou News】The highly anticipated Xiling Yinshe 2026 Spring Auction recently concluded successfully, with the 'Scholar's Objects and Antiques' special session, particularly the jade scholar's objects section, performing exceptionally well. The impressive transaction data once again affirmed the resilience and vitality of the high-end art market.
The total transaction value of this spring auction reached RMB 380 million, with a high transaction rate of 82.5%, an increase of 5.8% compared to the same period last year. Among them, the jade scholar's objects special session, with its exquisite craftsmanship and profound cultural heritage, attracted fierce bidding from numerous collectors and institutions, ultimately achieving a transaction value of RMB 120 million. The session's transaction rate reached an impressive 91.3%, an increase of 12.1% compared to similar sessions last year, demonstrating strong market demand for this segment.
Several key lots performed outstandingly. A white jade brush pot carved with 'Fu Shou Shuang Quan' (Blessings and Longevity) from the Qing Qianlong period, featuring warm jade and exquisite carving, was finally hammered at RMB 18.5 million, significantly exceeding its pre-auction estimate of RMB 12 million, with a premium rate of 54.2%. Another Ming Dynasty celadon jade 'Seven Sages of the Bamboo Grove' mountain carving, with its simple yet profound artistic conception, sold for RMB 9.8 million after multiple rounds of bidding, an increase of 50.8% from its estimate of RMB 6.5 million. In addition, an early Qing Dynasty jade paperweight carved with 'Scholar under Pine Tree' sold for RMB 3.2 million, also exceeding its estimate of RMB 2 million by 60%. These high-priced transactions all reflect collectors' pursuit of rare and exquisite jade scholar's objects.

High-quality, unique pieces, items from famous collections, and those with clear historical provenance continue to command strong prices and even set new records. In contrast, ordinary or questionable items face greater market pressure. This indicates that collectors are becoming more rational, focusing more on the cultural connotation, artistic level, and traceable provenance of the lots. In the future, the jade scholar's objects market will further develop towards 'exquisite, rare, and authentic,' and the collection threshold will also increase accordingly."
