  • Weighing ("Heavy Hand Feel"): Jade has a high density (3.33g/cm³), so a jade piece of the same size will feel relatively "heavy" in your hand. ⚖️ Counterfeits, such as glass or quartz jade, usually have a lower density than jade and will feel light. I often compare a real jade with a fake one, and the difference in weight is quite noticeable.   • Choose an authoritative institution: Be sure to choose a jewelry and jade appraisal institution recognized by the state and certified with CMA, CAL, CNAS, etc. For example, NGTC (National Gemstone Testing Center), China University of Geosciences Gem Testing Center, Zhongwei Gem Testing Center, etc. Certificates issued by these institutions have legal effect and are the ultimate proof of jade authenticity. 📄


  • Check the certificate content: The certificate will detail the type of jade (natural A-grade jade, B-grade jade, C-grade jade, etc.), weight, size, color, transparency, refractive index, density, and other parameters.
