So, what exactly is the "new normal" in Southern Red Agate authentication? I believe it is reflected in the following aspects:

Traditional authentication often focuses on macroscopic features of Southern Red such as color, shape, and luster. However, modern counterfeiting techniques can perfectly replicate these external characteristics. Therefore, we must pay closer attention to the internal structure of Southern Red. Natural Southern Red Agate, with its unique microcrystalline structure, determines its translucency, refractive index, and the distribution of internal cinnabar dots under different lighting conditions. For example, high-quality Jiu Kou Southern Red has dense and uniform cinnabar dots, forming a unique "gel-like" and "fleshy" texture, which dyed ordinary agate cannot imitate. The natural transition and distinct layers of the banded patterns in Liangshan Lianhe material are also important authentication criteria. With tools like high-magnification microscopes and polarizing microscopes, we can clearly observe these microscopic structures, thereby revealing their natural essence.
