For instance, I once saw a jade carving titled "Urban Rhythm," which used abstract lines and geometric shapes to depict the prosperity and vitality of a city. The material chosen was Hetian jasper, whose unique dark green hue perfectly complemented the modern theme, creating a refreshing impression. In the past, the mining, cutting, and polishing of jade relied on manual labor, which was time-consuming, laborious, and resulted in significant material loss. Today, with the advancement of technology, all of this has undergone revolutionary changes.
The application of modern technologies such as high-precision cutting equipment, laser engraving technology, and 3D printing-assisted design has greatly improved the efficiency and precision of jade carving. I once participated in a project that required carving a miniature landscape scroll on an extremely small piece of pebble jade, which was almost impossible with traditional techniques. Ultimately, with the help of laser engraving technology, we successfully presented intricate patterns on the jade, with astonishing richness of detail.
Furthermore, our understanding of jade materials is continuously deepening. In addition to traditional Hetian jade and jadeite, regional jade types such as Qinghai jade, Russian jade, and Xiuyan jade are gradually gaining attention.
