Distinguished collectors and industry colleagues, hello everyone. I am Wang Ruifang. Having been involved in the jade industry for over thirty years, with a particular focus on the international auction market, I have witnessed the circulation of countless beautiful jades and deeply understand the value logic behind them. Today, I would like to delve into the latest trends of jadeite in the current international auction market and share some of my unique insights and practical experiences.

In recent years, the international auction market has been dynamic, and jadeite, in particular, has shown remarkable performance. Once considered a treasure unique to the East, it has now become a focal point for collectors worldwide. This transformation is not accidental but rather the result of multiple converging factors.

Firstly, there's been a shift in the global wealth landscape. With the rise of the Asian economy, especially the growing affluent class in China, the demand for top-quality jadeite has increased day by day. This powerful purchasing power has directly driven up the prices of jadeite in the international auction market. I remember a few years ago, a high-quality "glass-jadeite" Imperial Green bangle might have been estimated in the tens of millions [of RMB], whereas today, a piece of similar quality, or even slightly inferior, often sells for over one hundred million. This is not merely inflation but a re-evaluation of the value of scarce resources by the market.

Secondly, there's the internationalization of aesthetic concepts. In the past, Western collectors had limited knowledge of jadeite, preferring traditional Western jewelry such as diamonds, rubies, and sapphires. However, with deeper cultural exchange, the gentle, understated, and elegant Eastern aesthetic of jadeite has gradually gained global acceptance. Many internationally renowned brands have also begun to incorporate jadeite into their high jewelry designs, further elevating its international status. For example, international auction giants like Sotheby's and Christie's have significantly increased their investment in jadeite specialist sales in recent years, with both the quantity and quality of lots showing remarkable improvement. This itself reflects the market's recognition of jadeite.

Furthermore, the transparency of information has improved. The widespread adoption of the internet and social media has allowed knowledge about jadeite, its origins, and identification methods to be more broadly disseminated. Collectors are no longer blindly following trends but are paying more attention to professional judgment regarding jadeite's quality, "kind" (texture and transparency), color, and craftsmanship. While this trend towards transparency limits opportunities for "bargain hunting," it helps establish a healthier and fairer trading environment, allowing truly excellent pieces to stand out.

When it comes to specific investment strategies, I believe several points are crucial.

First, prioritize quality over quantity. In jadeite investment, it is better to own one top-tier masterpiece than to hoard ten ordinary pieces. The scarcity of top-quality jadeite determines its potential for value preservation and appreciation. I once witnessed an "ice-jadeite" vibrant green Guanyin pendant that sold for several million Hong Kong dollars ten years ago, and its market value has now multiplied several times over. As for jadeite with average "kind" and plain color, even if the price is not high, its future appreciation potential is very limited.

Second, focus on the perfect combination of "kind," color, and craftsmanship. A perfect piece of jadeite must be a combination of excellent "kind" and transparency, rich and vibrant color, and exquisite and delicate carving. Among these, the "kind" is the soul of jadeite, determining its luster and translucency; the color is the life of jadeite, giving it unique charm; and the carving is the artistic expression of jadeite, capable of transforming the ordinary into something extraordinary. In the auction market, jadeite pieces that excel in all aspects of "kind," color, and craftsmanship often fetch astonishingly high prices. For example, a pair of "Zhaoyi Star" jadeite earrings auctioned by Christie's a few years ago, with their Imperial Green color, "glass-jadeite" texture, and exquisite setting, ultimately sold for over 100 million Hong Kong dollars, serving as a prime example.

Third, the importance of origin and certification. Although the origin of jadeite is not the sole determinant of its value, Burmese old-mine jadeite is widely recognized as the best quality, and its market acceptance is the highest. Simultaneously, identification certificates issued by authoritative institutions, such as the Hong Kong Jade & Gem Laboratory (HKJGL) and GIA, are important guarantees for ensuring the authenticity and quality of jadeite. In international auctions, lots accompanied by authoritative certificates often gain higher trust from collectors and more active bidding.

Fourth, grasp market trends and pulse. The jadeite market is not static; different periods will have different hot spots. For example, a few years ago, cabochon jadeite was highly sought after, while in recent years, the attention given to bangles and bead necklaces has gradually increased. As investors, we need to closely monitor auction house previews, sales data, and analyses from industry experts to adjust our investment direction in a timely manner. At the same time, we must be wary of market speculation and avoid blindly following trends.

Finally, I want to emphasize that jadeite investment is a long-term activity that requires professional knowledge. It is not just about accumulating wealth, but also an appreciation and inheritance of Eastern aesthetics. For those new to the industry, my advice is: observe more, learn more, and ask more. Visit auction house previews frequently to personally feel the texture of jadeite; consult senior collectors and experts to learn from their experiences; and read professional books and industry reports to enhance your connoisseurship.

In summary, jadeite in the international auction market is experiencing an unprecedented golden age. Its continuous rise in value is both a reflection of the global redistribution of wealth and a symbol of the widespread recognition of Eastern aesthetics worldwide. For investors, this is a field full of opportunities, but also accompanied by challenges. Only by maintaining a professional and cautious attitude, conducting in-depth research, and making precise judgments can one find their own "jade's luster and pearl's radiance" in this magnificent market.

I hope my sharing has been enlightening for everyone. Thank you!
